2/26/2026 5:48:00 PM | Baseball
COLUMBIA, Mo. – Mizzou Baseball is set to welcome the North Dakota State Bison to CoMo for a three-game weekend set, with first pitch for game one scheduled for 6 p.m. CT on Friday night at Taylor Stadium. A double header on Saturday to conclude the series will begin at 1 p.m. CT, with game two slated to begin 45 minutes after the completion of game one.
The Tigers (7-2, 0-0 SEC) enter this weekend matchup on a five-game win streak – one shy of the longest winning streak since the beginning of 2023 – with four of those wins coming in run-rule fashion. Mizzou is coming off a mid-week series sweep with two wins over Arkansas-Pine Bluff where they outscored the Golden Lions, 20-2. In Tuesday's 15-1 win, the Tigers became the fastest team in program history to reach the 100-run milestone for a season (eight games).
The Bison (1-7, 0-0 Summit) look to bounce back after dropping two of three games last weekend, losing to Stetson and dropping a one-run game to No. 22 Virginia. NDSU also earned its first win of the season with a 5-1 victory over Monmouth. The Bison won the Summit League tournament a season ago and knocked No. 23 Kansas off in the Fayetteville Regional.
All three games of the series will be streamed on SEC Network+. All games can be streamed on the Varsity Network by Learfield, with longtime Mizzou play-by-play announcer Tex Little on the call and Matt Michaels providing color.

He will aim to keep the momentum going for his third win of the season following two-consecutive starts where he went 5.0 innings. MACON US GO!
- Redshirt-sophomore lead-off hitter Tyler Macon has been a bright spot for the Tiger offense to start the season.
- Through the first nine games of the year, Macon is leading the country with 20 hits from atop of the Mizzou lineup. His .556 batting average is the second best in the conference and ranks seventh in the nation, while his 20 RBI also rank him second in the SEC and third nationally. Macon has also recorded three doubles, 17 runs scored and a 1.303 OPS.
- In the game three record-breaking win over Mount St. Mary's, Macon became the first Tiger in program history to go 8-for-8 on base – going 6-for-6 at the plate with a pair of doubles, eight RBI and four runs scored, also reaching twice via walk.
- In addition, Macon became just the third Tiger ever to record six hits in a game and the first since Jeff Terrell in 1995 (6-for-6, cycle, vs. Iowa State). The other was Jay Hawkins in 1956 in a 27-4 win over Nebraska (6-for-7, school-record six runs scored, three stolen bases, four RBI).
- Macon is currently on an eight-game hitting streak and has reached base safely in 10 consecutive games dating back to last season.
HISTORIC OFFENSIVE OUTPUT
- Mizzou baseball used a record-setting performance from its offense in Sunday's series finale to earn a dominant 34-3 victory over Mount St. Mary's on Feb. 15.
- Missouri's 34 runs were its second most in a single game in program history and the most since a 35-run outing in 1902.
- As a team, the Tigers had a program-best 32 RBI, passing the previous record of 28 against Texas on April 19, 2008.
- In addition, the Tigers' 26 hits matched a program record that had been done just twice (2005 vs. Navy; 2008 vs. Texas).
- Lead-off hitter Tyler Macon went 6-for-6 (eight RBI) to become the third Tiger in program history with a six-hit performance while Jase Woita, batting second, went 4-for-7 with a home run and eight RBI. The top two spots in the Tigers' lineup combined to go 10-for-13 with 16 RBI and seven runs scored, while both Macon and Woita came up one RBI short of tying the school record (nine).
- Left fielder Isaiah Frost was overshadowed while still having a huge day at the plate, going 3-for-4 with a double and five RBI.
- Four Tigers scored four runs apiece: Macon, Chris Patterson, Jamal George and Gehrig Goldbeck.
- Overall, 11 Tigers recorded hits while 13 players scored a run.
FIVE PLUS, FOR SURE
- In each start through nine games for Mizzou, starting pitchers Javyn Pimental, Josh McDevitt, Brady Kehlenbrink, JD Dohrmann and Luke Sullivan have all gone at least 5.0 innings.
- That group of starters has combined for a 2.14 ERA and 53 strikeouts while holding opponents to a .154 batting average.
- Starting pitchers have yet to record a loss, with an overall record of 6-0.
- Sullivan was impressive in his first collegiate start on Wednesday, throwing 5.1 scoreless innings while allowing just one hit and punching out five batters. Sullivan has also appeared out of the bullpen twice for the Tigers.
- Dohrmann is also shaping out to be an important piece to the Tigers' starting rotation. Through his first two collegiate starts, he has gone 11.0 innings with a 1.64 ERA and 10 strikeouts.
- Pimental is looking to be back to his old form following Tommy John surgery that kept him off the mound the entire 2025 season. The lefty has posted a 1.80 ERA through two starts, allowing just two runs and striking out 12 opponents through 10 innings of work.
NEW PIECES TO THE PUZZLE
- Head coach Kerrick Jackson went out and added some key pieces to the puzzle in the portal this offseason, highlighted by junior INF Kam Durnin and graduate 1B/OF Jase Woita.
- Woita joins the Tigers after spending one season at South Carolina where he appeared in 45 games for the Gamecocks posting a .300 batting average with six home runs. In league play, Woita was on fire at the plate all season with a .333 batting average.
- The physical, left-handed slugger is off to a hot start with the Tigers, batting .379 with an OPS of 1.176 thanks to a team-leading three home runs through the season's first nine games. He's driven in 14 runs, including a career-high eight RBI in the record-breaking 34-3 win over Mount Saint Mary's on Feb. 15.
- A Missouri native and transfer from Wichita State, Durnin emerged as one of the American Conference's most exciting young players over his first two collegiate seasons, where he hit .258 with 30 doubles and 68 runs scored over two full seasons with the Shockers.
- Durnin had a breakout summer where he was named Appalachian League Player of the Year after matching the Appy League record for highest single season batting average (.407) and setting a new RBI record (56) in just 40 games.
